Check out elephriends Peter Mortimer and Nick Rosen’s nytimes.com video story on Dean Potter (who sat down with his wife, Steph, and Waylon on elevision last month). Watch Dean parachute off of cliffs, climb rock faces with no safety rope, and baseline (like tightrope walking, minus the net and circus tent) across a canyon in Utah. He says that the adrenalin rush brings him back to the present moment (after all, if he’s not paying attention he could die in a second)…but I was quite happy to watch from the comfort of my couch.
