Justin’s Nut Butter goes bigtime: @ a Starbucks near you.

Ele-exclusive! Well, sort of—Justin told me himself a few weeks back, when I could’ve posted something, but I let the good ol’Daily Camera beat us to it. Read this article, writ by Alicia Wallace, it’s good. So here’s the deal: Justin’s just went bigtime. Until a few months ago, Justin and his hardy band of organic heroes still pressed all their lovely yummy natural (which does mean something, in his case) nut butter themselves! Now, suddenly, their cool little packets will be available in Starbucks

Here’s the Press Release:

“If you are looking for a new squeeze, you won’t have to look much further than your local Starbucks.  Justin’s Nut Butter, makers of the worlds most delicious organic nut butters (but don’t take our word for it – try them for yourself), is now available in a convenient squeeze pack across the U.S. at the popular coffee retailer.

Starbucks is going Nuts for Justin’s: Over the past two years, Starbucks reviewed 200 potential menu items in their effort to improve their food offerings.  They narrowed the field to just six new food selections and introduced them nationally in September 2008.

Justin’s Maple Almond Butter was invited to join their new food line-up making it one of only two non-Starbucks branded items available as a food (snack) offering.

How does a small-town organic nut butter company go from Farmer’s Markets [literally—I’m used to hanging at their booth at the Boulder Farmers’ Market ~ ed.] to Starbucks?

Just ask Justin!   – We invite you to the small business founder who is getting a huge coffee break with Starbucks.  You may start to notice this tasty product popping up everywhere from Whole Foods to outdoor retailer REI to Alaskan Airlines too.

We encourage you to try one of his delicious organic nut butters.  They come in six flavors:  Classic Peanut, Honey Peanut, Cinnamon Peanut, Classic Almond, Honey Almond and Maple Almond.  Which are available in both traditional jars and now in convenient single-serving squeeze packs that allow people to enjoy nut butter wherever their appetite takes them.”

Apparently, the demand has been (temporarily) overwhelming for little Justin’s: this from their web site: “We recently experienced tremendous growth across the country. Justin’s has gone where nut butter has never been before. We are working around the clock to keep up with demand.

If you would like an instant “fix” visit your local Starbucks. They are selling our 100 calorie Maple Almond butter squeeze packs as a breakfast option. If you would like more than just a taste, we will begin selling online soon (2-3 weeks). We appreciate our long time customers’ patience who haven’t seen Justin’s on their grocery shelf in a while.

If you are using the store locator, please call ahead to confirm that particular store is selling Justin’s Nut Butter. Each store is a little different.

The butters are on the way…~ Justin”

I couldn’t be prouder, and not a little jealous, of big tall handsome charming successful good ol’Justin, one of our eco-colleagues over the past few years in the green Boulder scene.
