Alex King has been elephant’s “elevision” and now “Walk the Talk Show” video maestro for the better part of two years, now. He also did a ton of work with our friend and colleague Jonny Copp, who died doing what he loves last week—living a life of adventure.
Two nights ago, Alex and I talked on the phone about our sadness and frustration at the loss of our hero and friend. Jonny was more than an expert adventurer, he was a connector, a leader and creator of community, the glue that bound together our environmental, climbing, surfing, Buddhist, filmmaker and artist communities in the form of Adventure Film festival (along with his partner and lifelong buddy Mark, who we hope will carry on the fest and will certainly receive all the support in the world as he does so). So Jonny will be missed—he was more than someone who everyone loved, he was more than an expert adventurer—he was really beginning to do something very few people anywhere can do—bind together communities with the joy and relaxation and open eyes that characterized his own life.
Following our phone call, Alex put his heartbreak into constructive form, doing what he does best. Video:
