Update: All proceeds of the evening will directly benefit Non-profit organization CONSCIOUS ALLIANCE ‘Art that Feeds’ in partnership with THE BUFFALO HEART PROJECT to provide fuel and firewood for emergency heating assistance on the Pine Ridge reservation as being developed by Conscious Alliance.
Front Range musicians Elephant Revival, Boulder Acoustic Society, Laura Goldhamer & The Silver Nail and Reed Foehl of Acoustic Junction will come together for a night of musical celebration; raising awareness and funds for The Buffalo Heart Project, a start-up non-profit founded by Atashnaa Werner of Nederland. Seattle musician and topical songwriter Jim Page will emcee the evening, as well as play songs from his vast repertoire. A silent auction is planned, as well as other offerings to be announced. All proceeds of the evening will directly benefit The Buffalo Heart Project; a Colorado 501(c)(3) non-profit to aid in startup costs of the organization.
The Buffalo Heart Project continues and expands upon the work of The Link Center Foundation, an emergency heating and utility assistance program for the elderly, disabled, and sick on the Lakota Reservations in South Dakota which disbanded in 2009. The Buffalo Heart Project envisions forming sustainable home building partnerships with organizations and eligible families on the Lakota Reservations, specifically Pine Ridge, to fulfill its vision.

[slide]NOT-FOR-PROFIT CONSCIOUS ALLIANCE RALLIES FOR TWO MISSIONS:
TO SUPPORT RELIEF EFFORTS IN HAITI,
AND TO AID THE RESIDENTS OF THE PINE RIDGE RESERVATION, RIGHT HERE IN THE U.S.
PARTNERS IN THE CONSCIOUS ALLIANCE HAITIAN RELIEF EFFORT INCLUDE:
BUMI SEHAT HAITI CHRISTIAN DISASTER RESPONSE,
AMERICAN RAINBOW RAPID RESPONSE JUSTIN’S NUT BUTTER, PANGEA ORGANICS, AND CLEANWELL
CONSCIOUS ALLIANCE CALLS ON CURRENT AND NEW SUPPORTERS TO DONATE TO THESE IMPORTANT CAUSES AT WWW.CONSCIOUSALLIANCE.ORG
Colorado-based not-for-profit Conscious Alliance today announce their 2010 winter missions: a Haitian Relief Effort to support recent earthquake victims, and aid to the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota, where relentless, freezing cold temperatures and a shortage of propane have found many residents in a life-threatening situation.
Conscious Alliance is calling on supporters old and new to donate. Contributions will be split 50/50 to support both of these important efforts, with an impressive 90% of monies going directly to the people in need. Conscious Alliance has set the goal at $30,000 in donations by January 25, 2010.
For the Haitian Relief Effort, Conscious Alliance is working again with Christian Disaster Response (CDR) and American Rainbow Rapid Response. The three organizations rallied to serve 2,600 free meals during the weeks after Hurricane Ike. Also working on this effort, Bumi Sehat Haiti, an organization that is establishing an emergency birthing center in Haiti (the organization set up a birthing center in Bali after the Tsunami that is still operating today). In addition, companies including Justin’s Nut Butter, Pangea Organics, and Cleanwell have donated the first truckload to support the effort.
With monetary donations, Conscious Alliance will purchase, at cost, pallets of Justin’s Nut Butter, a portable, durable and easily distributable source of protein. This will be combined with a shipment of personal care products, such as sponges and soap donated by Pangea Organics.
In addition to money, Conscious Alliance is accepting in-kind donations of goods in bulk quantity, preferably palletized, including personal care goods such as soap, tooth brushes and tooth paste, disinfectant of any kind, basic food items such as rice, beans, coffee, salt, sugar, supplemental items-such as batteries, flashlights, tents, warm weather clothing. They must be packaged in bulk for shipment to the CDR warehouse in Florida, where CDR will pickup the relief items and deliver them by boat, bypassing Port Au Prince and reaching the Birthing Center in Jacmel, on the southern coast of Haiti, and outlying areas where refugee populations are gathering and relief services can be more effectively provided.
Conscious Alliance’s Haitian Relief Efforts come during an already important campaign to help the needy right here in the United States. The Pine Ridge tribal government has declared a state of emergency on South Dakota’s Pine Ridge Reservation, where extreme cold and blizzard conditions have found many without heat in life-threatening situations. Conscious Alliance is working to collect donations and to deliver much needed propane and firewood to these remote communities.
