I met him a year ago—was going to see him at Macky [Auditorium in Boulder] that night, ran into him and a band member (who was very nice) at Boulderado [Hotel]. He was super shy, reserved, something like that. Then, that night on stage, he avoided the spotlight, even faced away from the audience…and then he unleashed that voice, that’s not shy or reserved at all. Whew!
