Richard Freeman Interview And Studio Talks. ~ Dan Slanger

Right Speech Marks A Freeman

One of Boulder’s kindest gestures is the ability to hear Richard Freeman speak from time to time.

I first heard Mr. Freeman at a Boulder Bookstore signing of his new book, The Mirror of Yoga, which has since taken turns with Shunryu Suzuki’s Zen Mind, Beginner’s Mind as the book I read before bed. I’ve two criteria for any nightstand book:

(1) inspires me to practice when I wake

(2) accomplishes (1) by being written by what seems like an exceedingly sane, wise, and poetic soul who probably practices when they wake.

Mr. Freeman’s book certainly meets my criteria.

And he speaks as sanely, wisely, and poetically as he writes.

You can hear audio of his semi-regular studio talks at the Yoga Workshop’s new blog.

And here’s a video of a question and answer session with Mr. Freeman in Berlin.

Dan enjoyed the holidays. He regrets streaming three seasons of Slings and Arrows in only a day and half but shoveling snow off the roof with his father brought him back to his body and his youth. And making vegan dishes with his mother was especially nourishing.
