Last week, Waylon shared an article exposing the sand-based, beef-like contents of Taco Bell tacos.
Two days later, Colbert picked up on the story and broadcasted this scathingly sarcastic bit:
The Colbert Report | Mon – Thurs 11:30pm / 10:30c | |||
Gordita Supreme Court | ||||
|
“We start with 100% USDA-inspected beef… only a stickler would demand that it also be USDA-approved…”
Funny, but if I know anything about subliminal advertising, the scary/hilarious commentary had little effect compared to the images of Colbert eating a big burrito with the Taco Bell logo clearly displayed next to him. How many high college kids watched that bit, laughed their ass off, then spent 20 minutes complaining about how T-Bell doesn’t deliver before driving 5 blocks for some delicious “fourthmeal?”
