What does it take to fall in love with the air we breathe and the Earth we depend upon for our lives? Is that so difficult a question?
I happen to believe that people protect what they love. It’s time to put our love into action!

Today, in Boulder and all over the country people are acting up to protect the Clean Air Act from those in the U.S. Congress who apparently love money more than life itself! What other conclusion can one draw from the current assault on the E.P.A. that is taking place in Congress?

Take a quick look back at the brief explanation of the Clean Air Act and then ask yourself, what is “common sense” and what constitutes an undo burden on business?
Extensive research has confirmed it takes 3 key ingredients for individuals to act up.
# 1 – a shared common concern
# 2 – a feeling that you are not alone
# 3 – a belief that the actions you take will make a difference

Here is what the Chairman of the House of Representatives Energy Committee has to say about climate change:
An excellent illustration that elections matter – Congressman Fred Upton, R- Michigan has a constituency of automobile parts manufacturers with a big stake in the Carbon emissions question. Unfortunately, he doesn’t believe that humans are having any impact upon climate change. Show up today in Boulder and keep showing up all around the country to learn more, to gain courage and to express your love for this planet! One way to express that love is by communicating with your local newspaper editors and use blog sites and other methods of educating people about his desire to drill in Alaska and support nuclear energy. As Chairman of the Energy and Commerce committee he determines what legislation is considered byt his committee.
While I wasn’t a fan of the self-serving message of The Secret – the money they made helped them produce this beautiful and uplifting short clip to help you fall in love again with our precious planet – get outside today, love it and protect it!
Onward with courage,
