How To Meditate~ February 26th.

Learning to let the heart beat you…

“Our breath is a fragile piece of thread. But once we learn how to use it, it can become a wondrous tool to help us surmount situations which would otherwise seem hopeless. Our breath is the bridge from our body to our mind, the element which reconciles our body and mind and which makes possible one-ness of body and mind. Breath is aligned to both body and mind and it alone is the tool which can bring them together, illuminating both and bringing both peace and calm…

Keep your back straight. This is very important. The neck and head should be aligned with the spinal column; they should be straight but not stiff or wood-like. Keep your eyes focused a yard or two in front of you. If you can, maintain a half smile.

Now begin to follow your breath and to relax your muscles. Concentrate on keeping your spinal column straight and on following your breath. As for everything else, let it go. Let go of everything.”

~from The Miracle Of Mindfulness by Thich Nhat Hanh

Let the sun see for you,

the earth is your support.

Listen as the leaves attest to life’s unceasing flow.

Die to the false hope of a fixed conceptual world,

And rise anew to Life without limits!
