Elephant Gun: Take the big king down.
Listened to this, what, 10 times since I heard it here just last night? Okay: more like 15, and counting. And that’s how I am, and you are too: listen to it until it fades and like a snake you emerge from a new skin a new self, shiny and greater and less than what you were.
I’d heard it before but last night when listening to this it grabbed my heart gently and shook it, wrung it out and made it (my heart) live once more in the present moment: a full present moment that includes my past and perhaps a little future…a present unlimited.
A present expanded by love and blown full of imagination, like a bugle played in the surf.

I’d bury my dreams underground
As did I, we drink to die
We drink tonightFar from home, elephant gun
Let’s take them down one by one
We’ll lay it down, it’s not been found
It’s not aroundLet the seasons begin
It rolls right on
Let the seasons begin
Take the big king downLet the seasons begin
It rolls right on
Let the seasons begin
Take the big king downAnd it rips through the silence
Of our camp at night
And it rips through the night
[Incomprehensible]And it rips through the silence
Of our camp at night
And it rips through the silence
All that is left is all that I hide
