“THE PURPOSE OF LIFE IS A LIFE WITH PURPOSE.
THE HIGHEST PURPOSE IS TO SERVE OTHERS….”
~B.J. Galvan

The practice of Anusara Yoga led me to the point where the physical body becomes the materialization of the more subtle qualities of consciousness, of that sacred intention that we all carry in the heart. On the mat I began to experience and recognize a bright space (cit) that pulsed within me, that generated calm, freedom and the desire to fly. Through physical postures, I felt indescribable bliss (ananda), which led me to see and feel what is today my yoga practice.

As John Friend (one of my greatest teachers to whom I am immensely grateful for all that he has brought and brings daily into my life) says, we do yoga to remember our divine essence and to participate in this great co-creation of consciousness and beauty of which we all are part. We co-create to expand the bliss that this practice brings to our life, sharing it with others, allowing the light of the heart to enliven and empower us through our asanas, so that our light may in turn serve to enlighten others.

I live in a country where it is evident in every corner that there is a clear need for us to not shelter and withhold that which the universe has invested in us; where by sharing the blessings of the yoga practice and the spiritual path, we can make a significant difference in the lives of others.

I consider myself to be a very fortunate person because I have had the wonderful opportunity to meet extraordinary teachers, people who have left important impressions on my soul and above all have inspired me to want to be a vehicle for these wise teachings and compassion. What better way to do so than by sharing the light with those who are going through difficult and painful situations?

I think if we connect with our sacred essence, we begin to see it reflected in everything and everyone around us. That is when we are able to approach and treat all of those around us as divine beings, beings to whom we want to offer and serve.

At this point service ceases to be difficult and forced; instead it begins to flow, in a perfect balance between giving from the fullness of the heart and knowing how to receive the gift that is offered by each person who crosses our path. We are delighted to discover that sharing empowers, expands and connects us with our higher purpose, to be vehicles of something bigger, instruments of love, beings of service and light.
