Deep in the heart of the Black Dirt Lotus (there’s a Jewel).

Beyond ideas of Wrongdoing and Rightdoing

there’s a field…

where you and I can meet.

When the soul lies down in that grass,

the world is too complete to talk about.

“Ideas, language, and even the phrase ‘each other’ don’t make any sense.”

~Rumi

It was cold and dreary on the black dirt field when Robert Sturman came to town. The molten black earth was weepy, but never fully turned to mud. I told Robert that I was concerned about the amount of physical darkness we were working with and he replied with a perfect metaphor:

“There is a lot of darkness but it isn’t the kind of darkness we need to resist or be frightened by. It’s the beautiful kind of darkness that keeps the heart connected with the broken heart of the world.”

So I must leave you with this mantra:

Fear not the tricky landscape of your giant heart.
There will always be darkness, and we are all here to heal and break and heal again.
Continue to seek the jewel in your Black Dirt, lotus heart.

Enjoy the Alchemy.

I love you.

Love,

the Black Dirt Goddess
