Following a divorce in 2008, Ian Usher sold nearly everything he owned on eBay. He then made a bucket list of 100 things he wanted to do in 100 days and set out to do it. So, where is he today? According to WA Today, four years and 93 goals later, the 48-year-old Mr. Usher is now living on a Caribbean island and has found love again.

This guy gave up money to live in a cave.
For about twelve years now Daniel Suelo has been living in a cave in Utah. He periodically uses the public library to blog, dumpster dives, harvests wild foods and on occasion, eats roadkill. He doesn’t accept any government funding or support. According to Good Morning America, Suelo after all these years has no plans to return to money. “I know it’s possible to live without money,” he said. “Abundantly.”

Another moneyless man.
In 2008 Mark Boyle decided to give up money. The reasons why he did it? According to a 2010 interview by The Telegraph, his decision to go moneyless was influenced by problems in the world such as sweatshops, environmental destruction, factory farms, animal testing and wars over resources. He’s now vegan, grows his own food, lives in a caravan he got off of freecycle.com and started a Freeconomy in 2007 that has over 17,000 members.
