Anderson Cooper Comes Out, & Eloquently Explains Why Now.

While few of his fans are surprised—he’s been more or less openly gay for years—his eloquence, above, has made this a powerful and touching moment.

Undoubtedly gay people do face discrimination in the work place (totally legally in most parts of the country, by the way; please support ENDA). From the very start, they’re 40% less likely to get an interview just as one example. Cooper’s success would have been less likely as openly gay, but instead of a strict “glass ceiling” what he would have hit is clearly more permeable than that, today.
