What Would You Tell Your 10-year-younger self about dating?
Here’s the Deal:
Most days I’m a yoga teacher, but every day I’m a listener, advice-giver, and post-class love-life-fixer.
After class, students approach me with questions about physical alignment, musical choices and surprisingly, romantic relationships. I can’t tell you why, only that it happens. As more women approach me, I find more and more that I know how to respond.
I say nothing at first, just listen. Then I ask one simple question:
What Would You Tell Your 10-year-younger self about dating?
Here’s what they said:
1. You’re not selfish.
2. You are cool.
3. That feeling in your gut? It’s right.
4. Mom understands more than you think. You can call her for advice.
5. Take care of yourself.
6. It’s okay to splurge on dinner and clothing.
8. Enjoy being single, it’s gonna be like this for a while. But not forever.
9. When you think back to this relationship, remember the good things too.
10. For God’s sake, let your hair grow. Men like it better, and so do you.
