Why I’m a Fiscal Liberal.

Because it works.

Over the past 80 years: Democrats 300% growth, GOP 0%.

I know a lot of people who like to say, “I’m a social liberal, and a fiscal conservative.” The notion that Republicans are better at money is widespread: we’ve all heard the joke about

“If you aren’t liberal when you’re young, you don’t have a heart. If you aren’t conservative when you’re old, you don’t have a brain.”

So why am I proud to be a fiscal liberal? Because, as Clinton likes to remind us, arithmetic. We’ve tried both ways, and one way works: when we all work together:

Bonus: Romney’s tax plan. And, bonus: Obama’s tax calculator.

And how’s Obama doing, having been given the worst economy since The Great Depression and a fiercely partisan Congress?

“This is your record,” Andrew Sullivan writes in a post titled A Tip For Obama For Tomorrow. “For fuck’s sake, stop running away from it.”
