Get Your Greens & a Whole Lot More. ~ Wendy Keslick

My Favorite Green Smoothie Recipe

This recipe was created by my friend and I, as we searched for a way start each day with some of the best known foods for maintaining great health.

To keep mornings simple, we put all of the ingredients in the Vitamix the night before and store it in the refrigerator overnight. This way we just need to give it a quick blend in the morning—and like magic—a bountiful breakfast is served!

This recipe makes 64 ounces, and I generally drink 32 ounces each morning. Once mixed, it will last a few days in refrigerator, so if you are not sharing you can enjoy your leftovers the next morning, too!

Fabulous Green Smoothie

2 cups of water
2 large handfuls of mixed greens (spinach, kale, chard, etc.)
1 large handful of fresh cilantro or parsley
2-3 celery stalks
1-2 large carrots
1 banana
1 apple (optional)
2 tablespoons of chia seeds
2 tablespoons of flax seeds
2 tablespoons of hemp hearts
2 tablespoons of tumeric
1 tablespoon of cacoa powder
1-2 teaspoon fresh ginger (or thumbnail size chunk)
Juice of 1 lemon

When on hand, you can also add broccoli stalk, goji berries

Choose organic whenever possible
