My Congressman Jared Polis and I tossing out tee-shirts at a Walk the Talk Show a few years back, before he was elected—the first to be elected when he was already openly gay.
I am so proud of my countrymen and women: in a few years, when I get married, I will not be enjoying a right afforded to all Americans instead of joining a club with privileges not afforded my gay sisters and brothers.
