With President Obama in the area, a shooting broke out around noon today in Santa Monica, California.

“Authorities and witnesses described a chaotic scene as the gunman moved quickly through the campus and the nearby streets on a bright June afternoon.”

“Witnesses described racing out the back door of the library after the armed man walked in and opened fire. ‘I didn’t want to take any chances,’ said Cyrus Jappari, 19, a freshman at Santa Monica College.”

The shooter has been taken into custody and police are looking for a possible second shooter right now.
