“We are not materialistic enough.
Being materialistic means loving the material. It means loving our sidewalks, our lakes, our inventions, our technology, the kind of buildings we move around in, the kind of communities we want to grow.
I’d like to take the term “spirituality” and put it in the compost. Terms like spirituality and enlightenment seem to take us up and away from our experience.
When we get taken away from our experience, we split off. We get into something so abstract.
Fish and rivers and lakes, they don’t need our abstractions; they need our actions.”
