When I was four my parents bought me a cat.

I named her Alley, cliché I know, but at four I thought I was pretty clever.

I loved that cat.

We played together and slept together, well she slept on my face in a vein attempt to smother me, and I passed it off as love.

She was the best friend I ever had. Until, one day we were playing and Alley took issue with me. I probably moved the arm or leg she had been resting on and she bit me! My four-year-old brain figured it was an eye-for-an-eye situation so, I scolded her, picked up her paw and bit her back!

As a four-year-old this is a funny reaction but as an adult…creepy!
