On Mother’s Day, I always make my mom a homemade construction paper, cut and paste card.
Mothers cherish homemade cards. My mom saved all of homemade cards we made growing up.
Making a card from scratch, with our own two hands, is creative expression of love.
Making a grammar-schoolish project for my mom, celebrates the creativity she’s always inspired in me. Especially when I was little. I think she raised me to be an artist.
And I love her. Every year I give my mom a colorful reminder of how beautiful I think she is.
Glitter adds a nice touch of magic sparkle. It reminds my mom that she shines bright with love and light.
She always displays her card on the fridge, and it reminds her that she is special and loved.
My mom is great. And a little far away from me, geographically, so I want her to have a warm, fuzzy reminder of my love for her.
I also grew up to be a mom, and I promise, my favorite gifts are the homemade cards and works of art my kids make or me.
