I originally created this recipe over the Summer as an energizing Saturday morning snack.
Although it is getting chilly, this is a refreshing and healthy smoothie to enjoy over the holiday season as an alternative to a processed sugar indulgence. The combination of ingredients will give us the healthy nutrients our bodies crave and it tastes yummy!
The Minty Strawberry:
1½ cups of filtered water
2 stalks of celery
½ a lemon (remove skin and seeds)
3 cups of packed baby spinach
1 inch of raw ginger
1 d’anjou pear
5 frozen strawberries
15 mint leaves
Optional topping: chia seeds
First, add the water, celery, lemon, spinach and ginger and blend. Next, add the remaining ingredients to your blender and blend until smooth and creamy. Top with chia seeds and enjoy!
