What is your idea of a cozy night in?
Mine includes air popped popcorn with tons of butter, and hopefully a cute person or animal to cuddle.
But I like to watch movies alone too.
I saw a couple of excellent movies recently and I wanted to share, then decided to poll the elephant staff for a list of their faves. Here’s what we came up with!
Renee’s Picks:
Frances Ha: A quirky black and white 20-something woman living in new york. Cute and fairly light. Perfect for the millennial crowd.
Short Term 12: Intense indie flick about a young (30 ish) couple that runs a foster home for troubled youth.
Poignant and tear-inducing, real and raw.
Cat’s Picks:
Fish Tank: A coming of age movie about a socially isolated 15-year-old.
Also: Blue is the Warmest Color.
Rachel’s Picks:
Anything Wes Anderson—one being the Darjeeling Limited, which was also a Lindsey pick:
If you want to get silly:
Emma picked the moody, raw and real Into the Wild.
A serious tear-jerker that will change your life.
Emily’s all over Alice in Wonderland:
Travis recently cozied up to Good Will Hunting with his son—a perfect family movie and a fine tribute to Mr. Williams, rest his soul.
Ashleigh loves The Fall:
Other suggestions from Ashleigh: Across the Universe (great for all-ages) and Million Dollar Baby (adult, but a must-see).
