Truth be told, I’ve never been a fan of Led Zeppelin.
This stems mostly from the fact that I can’t stand “Stairway to Heaven”—such an overrated song! (IMHO)
However, I am a huge music fan and an advocate of children doing cool, creative things—such as expressing themselves musically!
So when I saw this video, it made me smile, despite the fact that the kids were playing the dreaded Zeppelin.
Did I mention the coolest part yet?
The kids are are playing Led Zeppelin’s music on xylophones and other percussion instruments, such as marimbas, bongo drums and vibraphones!
According to an article on Ultimate Classic Rock:
This 50-plus student orchestra, featuring Kentucky children between the ages of 7 and 12, offers spirited versions of “Kashmir,” “The Ocean” and “Immigrant Song.”
The student orchestra is called the “Louisville Leopard Percussionists,” and the members attend different schools from the from all over Louisville, Kentucky.
According to the aforementioned article, Jimmy Page—co-founder of the band Led Zeppelin—has been quoted telling their 1.6 million Facebook fans that the video below is: “Too good not to share.”
I must admit—I agree!
