I watch.
My Dad holding his 98-year-old mother’s delicate hand.
She cannot speak or move. Nothing.
But her eyes—crystal clear—are watching my dad’s eyes.
Innocence meeting innocence
In the stillness of that space.
In that moment in time no words are uttered. Not a sound.
I watch.
Her chest rising slowly with each breath. So subtle.
Like her son’s.
Like mine.
Breath by Breath.
The space in between.
In each breath. Connection with all living.
In each space. Connection with all beyond time.
I felt.
I watched.
Innocence.
