Adventures of Enaz: Coping with Cerebral Palsy Through Yoga & Meditation. ~Theresa Champagne

Many of us come to yoga and meditation as seekers who want different answers.

We find new peace (and suffering), a sense of grounding and awareness and we evolve in to a place of greater consciousness and community. Science is looking at how yoga and meditation impact the brain, the mind and our nervous system. What effects can be found on bodies, especially those with disabilities?

Heather, a vulnerable and strong mother, is exploring these questions for her son, Zane, and is looking for the space and support to share this journey with our community.

Heather has been in the healing arts profession for 18 years, has a strong foundation in yoga and meditation, and specializes in bodywork, birth services and helping the body release trauma. She is sweet and soft, and is known as a great healer in her community.

Seven years ago, Heather gave birth to a sweet soul, Zane, and on his second birthday he was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy (spastic), specifically PVL (Periventricular Leukomalasia), and Pervasive Sensory Disorder, along the Autism Spectrum.

The way the neurological impairment shows up is in his fine motor movements (fingers), his ability to run and balance and his ability to play and be strong with the other boys.

Heather is envisioning a life of daily discipline in yoga and mediation, along with speech and homeschooling for Zane. She trusts that deep healing from spiritual connection will result from this. Careful thought has been put into this location for this healing; Amma’s Ashram, in the state of Kerala in India. Thousands of people from all of the world dedicate their time here to spiritual connection.

Being away from the daily grind, connecting in a deep spiritual way and offering a place of stillness for her boy and herself is the ultimate goal of Adventures of Enaz.

Please join the community who is holding space and sharing support for this journey.
