The newest hit single “Ninguna Como Yo” comes with one important message within its lyrics “Las Mujeres se respetan” which translates to “Women are to be respected”. As a survivor of domestic violence myself I understand how powerful music can be with influencing young people, women of color… especially among the Latino community. It’s an important message – especially during a pandemic that has highly influenced us all emotionally, and mentally amid music that too often says the opposite about women, and that’s what makes ANJEZA different. Her music not only motivates and inspires but also empowers youth and young women
Albania-a third-world communist country where having a voice was considered a curse is exactly where Anjeza’s tough upbringing led her to strive for freedom and independence. She became trilingual by the age of 15 but it was through dance competitions, festivals, tv shows, beauty competitions, music videos, and trips to Germany, Italy, Greece, Macedonia where she became empowered and inspired to “escape” her nest. Anjeza moved to Greece where she studied psychology for two years while professionally performing as a singer and dancer with celebrity singers. Greece led to NY, and NY led to LA where she studied Broadcast Journalism and Communication
Moving to the USA was an impossible dream because Albania was one of the countries where we couldn’t get a visa to travel to the USA, and yet after years of failed attempts to travel to the USA as a student with no success finally paid off when her family won the green card lottery. Being dependent from her parents allowed her to move to the United States at a very young age. It was life-changing, a cultural shock, and “all part of her blessing and journey as she calls it”. She made a name for herself through hard work, persistence, passion, education. Her dance experience, the ability to speak in four languages acting and singing in nine of them
“Passionate and Ambitious, Grateful and Persistent, Relentless and Unapologetic – this is ANJEZA”
Her energy and motivation is the first thing you notice, but it’s her natural Latin voice, electrifying energy, and Latin moves that stays with you
