Spot on balance. Mercury Retrograde September 2022. “Somewhere in Between; There’s the Middle Path.”

As we’re approaching the full moon in Pisces, and Mercury is preparing to officially start its retrograde cycle one day earlier, Mercury, the planet of mind and communication, has been teaching me about balance, harmony and negotiations during its journey through Libra. Mercury entered Libra on Aug 25th followed by a powerful lunation in Virgo on Aug 27. Sun and Moon coupled in Virgo to start a new lunar cycle. This lunation was squared by Mars in Gemini, shedding the light onto finding balance between opposites. Both Gemini and Virgo are ruled by Mercury.

“Somewhere in between; there’s the Middle path.” Between tidy, earthy Virgo and messy, airy Gemini. Between being introverted and extroverted. Between finger painting and scheduling life. Between day and night. Ground and breeze. Somewhere; between all contradictions, there’s a balance that makes things flow easier, and healthier. “Always seek that!” .

As the moon continues waxing its way to fullness in Pisces, once again, the contrast between Virgo and Pisces, is the exact balance we need to reflect upon and ground into our vision. Virgo invites analysis and planning— Full Moon in Pisces invites presence, mindfulness and creative envisioning of our dreams. What’s the balanced path to reach goals? How can I always enjoy the journey and the destination?

The key is to bring these oppositions together. To include your dreams into reality and your fantasies into existence as ecstatic as it gets. Light up with self care, positive emotions and a trusting belief in life so you’re courageous with actions. That’s the power of manifestation and it’s the magic available from the heavens now and always once you find your balance between intuition, imagination, creativity, rest and activity.

As a holistic health expert, I understand that balance doesn’t mean jumping on one leg when walking. Rather, it’s alternating your weight between one leg and the other. Your right and left sides, probably not equally, but mutually. I also know, when challenges or strong emotions arise, there’s an opportunity calling me to responsibly ground my beliefs, desires, and choices in life into balance. Each desire, belief and choice, will form the destiny that I’m creating. I choose harmony. I choose to assert myself firmly and negotiate with love.

Somewhere between the silent witness and the performer, in the dynamic exchange of giving and receiving, emerges meaningful synchronicities and spontaneous right action. I’m stronger when I’m acting from that connected place. I trust in my guidance. This divine spark within. The fire of the soul.

Through the fire of the soul, one cultivates wisdom and understanding. That’s how we effortlessly find our balanced act. Inspiration translates into a plan, and events get meaning and depth. It’s the force that actualizes our dreams and ideas into reality, transforming our experiences into lessons. It’s the knowing in the knower, it’s the element that digests life’s happenings into essence, wisdom, nourishment, meaning. It’s called in Sanskrit: Agni the digestive fire. The element that digests and transforms. If this fire is shining bright, your mind is sharp and focused. You’re able to act on your visions and manifest them. You digest life’s events and happenings, you find wisdom as you trust in life.

I give meditation five stars as a “technology” that ignites the Agni. Meditation has increased my capacity for life, and love. It has allowed me a gentle exposure to the depth and complexity of life’s layers, opposites and dimensions. While I’m able to digest, and integrate my experiences fully, the healing effects of meditation are countless.

A simple exercise:

Start with 5 min on your alarm clock.

Sit comfortably with your back straight, but not stiff. Shoulders and jaw relaxed. Touch your tongue to the pallet. Make sure your body is rested.

Start by observing the breath, flowing all the way in, filling up the lungs. Then observe it flowing all the way out.

Stay focused on the breath, and the sensations in your body. Following your breath in and out. Simply observing.

When your alarm rings, take a deep breath in, ground in your body by wiggling your fingers and your toes. Stretching your arms and legs, bringing your best self on as you’re opening your eyes.
Training yourself to focus on observing the breath, is a yogic practice that will allow your mental faculties to grow.

Increase your practice time daily till you reach 30 min.

Happy meditating and finding your inner balanced compass. Retrogrades are an opportunity for deeper reflection. Mercury retrograde in Libra is an opportunity to reflect and explore the concept of harmony between opposites; finding a middle path.
