What’s your label?
What part of the alphabet is your label?
We walk together carrying our alphabet in a backpack
Each letter feels like a brick
others are uplifted and creative with their letters
Mine-P.T.S.D. and T.B.I.
I am sure that your part of the alphabet has affected your life
in positive or negative ways
I share for others to not feel alone
not in a pity party
My nerves and brain are on the outside of my body
what?
Ptsd and me
walking in the world
seems simple to most
they walk among the normal
I walk on bombs
bombs I have to contain every minute of every day
drop to the floor, soldier!!!!
“get over it.”
“don’t use it as a crutch.”
“your acting like a victim”
“you’re strong enough to get over it.”
Hidden behind a smile
I have no idea what it’s like to live
truly
live
I
wake each day to face
a shallow breathe
heart palpations so loud my ears hurt
Sounds, facial expressions, a man’s tone of voice
All the feels
A kick to the gut
a coat hanger and a throat
a gun to the temple
impact
cranium
guns that daddy held
what it must feel like to have the inside of your
brain
nerves
inside a casing of protection
I admire you, and I wish I were you in so many ways
gratitude that others can walk clearly on a path
a path they choose without hesitation
without feeling that every choice will be the wrong decision
or any decision
any emotion
anything
BEING ME
and with that comes
All the feels
A kick to the gut
a coat hanger and a throat
a gun to the temple
exposed in the storm of neverending
spinning
rollercoaster
can’t contain the environment,
or
should I say the reaction to it
I grasp for the light every day in every way
the grip tight
don’t fall
rise
