Can my Eyes be Half Shut and my Mind Open? Please?.

The wonderful Waylon posted an invitation last weekend on Instagram welcoming everyone to participation in group meditation, perhaps at your local Shambala Center.  I wanted to tell Waylon that I’ve attended the group meditation, and yoga classes, at the Shambala center in St Pete Fl when I lived there. Enjoyed it! A lot!  But I’m in Mexico these days, still meditating, but solo.  Also enjoyable!

The Shambala tradition advocates eyes open, to take in rather than block out your surroundings.  But yeah. Personally, I find the whole centering process so much easier with closed eyelids, or at least having my surroundings heavily veiled through my thick eyelashes. (They’re not really thick, but I wish they were).  Anyway, while composing this little commentary, I was going to reference that Stanley Kubrick film, because I thought it was called Eyes Half Shut, which it’s not. It’s actually called Eyes WIDE Shut. Duh, I guess.  But here comes the happy ending!  I googled Eyes HALF Shut, and guess what? It’s a lovely little acoustic song of the same name on YouTube.  It’s 1:54 min long, it’s had 48 views and 2 likes (one of which is mine).  I think it would be a supportive and loving gesture to give it a listen, and maybe a like.  Pretty sure the band, I think called Dandelion Wine, would  get a big charge.

So let’s  hear it for Eyes Half Shut!  Yay!  Works for my meditation, or your listening pleasure !  ?
