We are mothers.
Yes, you read that right. And no, I’m not just talking about being a pet mom or a “cool aunt.”
I mean, we are embodying the mother archetype.
A loved one, with the best of intentions I’m sure, compared me to an old childhood friend with a husband and kids. My loved one claimed my friend has a better life than I—the one who is currently single and finding my way sans offspring.
I disagree.
Sure, I’m not currently successful, but I know myself, I trust myself, and I know I’m on my way. This is my path, no one else’s, and just because I didn’t produce offspring does not make me any less of a woman, or human. Nor does it mean I am living any less of a life.
In fact, after letting my loved one’s words ring in my ears, I realized I am a mom. I’m a healer. I reach and nurture countless people through my YouTube channel, my writing, my music, my painting, my poetry, my comedy. I don’t know how many people I’ve counseled and helped who maybe didn’t have the best childhoods.
The mother archetype is powerful, healing, and should not be underestimated.
So remember this, dear ones, as you carry a womb that weaves other healing creations—your words, your art:
We are mothers.
