Improvised, Organic, Dirty Rhythmic Gymnastics:
When body and mind synchronize, through 10,000 hours of practice, the result appears effortlessly, joyfully graceful.
Stella Angelova director/choreographer/editor – this was shot with a 7D in my garage. All of what you see was improvised on spot, there was no rehearsal…i wanted to be very organic. This was shot & edited in just a few hours. (RG – AKA- for Rhythmic Gymnastics)

Born in Bulgaria, Stella began her Rhythmic Gymnastic training and competitive career at the age of 4 with the legendary trainer and coach, Efrosina Anguelova, who is in fact her mother. Stella was invited to join the Bulgarian National Gymnastics Team in Sofia by the age of 8. She gained massive popularity from such competitions as the Intervision Cup, Wacoal Cup, 88 Europe Championships, 89 World Championship, and other broadcasted National and International Championships. Having won over 265 Medals, 5 National Championships, Europe and World Championships, Stella decided to retire from gymnastics at the age of 16.
Moving to America at the age of 17, Stella was asked to coach and choreographfor the US National Gymnastics Team. Her love for the arts prompted her to start auditioning for dance and acting projects as well. She booked her first job as a dancer for R&B sensation, Tevin Campbell, and went on to tour with artists such as Boys II Men, Babyface, Ricky Martin and Paulina Rubio, Prince, Celine Dion, Backstreet Boys, Mase and Latin singer/producer Robbie Draco Rosa.
Here is a film of Stella using her sword skills with a Japanese katana. The film was shot on an ITD Y6 High Speed Digital Camera at 1000 fps. It’s amazing and beautiful to watch Stella use her skills when she’s captured in super slow motion.
