I find myself inside a room

With lovers from your past—

Though not the first to know your heart

I hope to be the last.

We stand upon a common ground

And hold a loving space—

I share my truth and hope to be

A future you’ll embrace.

I tell of how I know your soul

Your body and your mind—

Of all we have overcome

And all we’ve yet to find.

I tell of how you make me strong,

A shoulder I can lean—

I promise love through highs and lows

And all that’s in-between.

Thoughtfully considered,

The brigade to give review—

In the room of lovers past,

They want the best for you.

Upon deliberation

Of a life best lived with me,

An undivided blessing

That our love is meant to be.
