I was a student at CU during the 80’s when Tuesday was $1 movie night, Cafe Gondolier had all you can eat spaghetti for $1.99, and Red Robin had free beer until someone went to the bathroom (and no I did not make that last one up). I also had a bad perm and wore jackets with shoulder pads – not so nostalgic about that. I have matured somewhat from those days, but still like a good deal on a good time. Free Days at Denver cultural attractions are sponsored by the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District (SCFD) paid for through your sales tax dollars. Get a complete schedule at their site but here are the upcoming dates.

Free IMAX movie screening this weekend of the new film Wild Ocean at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science – February 7th at 9 am or 8 pm, Feb  8th at 9 am. Tickets go fast and are first come, first serve.

Free admission to the Denver Art Museum the first Saturday of each month, which means tomorrow, February 7th is free there two.

Free admission to the Denver Zoo is offered on February 14th and 24th. The next free days after that are not until October.

Free admission to the Denver Botanic Gardens is on February 16th.

Free plays are also offered at the Denver Center of the Performing Arts on occasion, check with them for the plays and dates.

Free admission to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science is next available on March 18th.
