Music rocks me to my core.
I just made my rookie trip to teach at the prestigious Kripalu Center in the Berkshires. I was filled with a mixture of gratitude, excitement and the feeling in my tummy when I’ve eaten a whole pint of Ben & Jerry’s—I was intimidated all the way to my core.
I’m a confident woman. I know I’m a good teacher and I have my own special approach and voice to offer, but walking down the halls where all the yogi greats have taught filled me with some intense shakti (energy) that made me sink inward.
I shared these thoughts with my brilliant and musically oriented dear friend and she shot over the perfect remedy—a music video called, “Come Live the Life” by the Belgium band, K’s Choice. The combination of the amazing video and lyrics was an instant pick-me-up and reminded me that I am indeed here to live the life I’ve been given. I’ve been blessed, as we all have, with a message to share and it would be a shame to shy away from such a gift. I hope this video reminds us all that there is magic everywhere if we can only open our eyes to see it. We all hit high notes and low. We stumble on the lyrics, but somehow always know how to continue to hum along.
We are singing along perfectly.

You rush out, it’s another day
And pass yourself along the way again
How much longer ?
And you’re keeping up the pace you’re in
You feel like crashing into something new
How much longer ?
If your eyes are the gateway to your soul
What’s broken will be whole again
And whole is hard to shatter
I’ll dive into your eyes
I’m never coming out
Not until we all dissolve into what matters
You wanna bury secrets deep inside
But it’s too cold a place to hide them all
How much longer ?
So somewhere in your eyes I see
A wall of fire moving toward me
I’m here
If your eyes are the gateway to your soul
What’s broken will be whole again
And whole is hard to shatter
I’ll dive into your eyes
I’m never coming out
Not until we all dissolve into what matters
So come on, come on, come on
All is forgiven
So come on, come on
Come live the life you’re given
If you go out, it’s a sunny day
Away, away, away, away
Come on, come on, come on
All is forgiven
So come on, come on
Come live the life
So come on, come on, come on
All is forgiven
So come on, come on
Come live the life
