“Life is a song – sing it. Life is a game – play it. Life is a challenge – meet it. Life is a dream – realize it. Life is a sacrifice – offer it. Life is love – enjoy it.” ~ Sai Baba
We all need a challenge every once and a while. When we challenge ourselves, we commit to throwing ourselves into that goal, project, and sometimes back into our own life. And sometimes we need a little push. Challenges are a whole lot easier when you have a bunch of awesome people rooting for you. So, check it out:
On June 8th, (tomorrow) I’m jumping into this challenge — a community project online called 21.5.800.
For 21 days, we’ll be doing 5 days of yoga a week and 800 words of writing per day.
Sounds like a lot, huh? But why wouldn’t you want to hit your mat a bit more this month? And rev up that awesome yoga power with some creative pen-on-paper action!
Here’s the deal (from Bindu Wiles):
THE WRITING: The writing can be ANYTHING. Memoir, blogs, business plans, essays, fiction, free-writing, letters,……..ANYTHING. The point is to get writing again daily and to have the boundaries and challenge of a daily word count to reach.
THE YOGA: There are several options for you to do the yoga portion of 21.5.800 5 times in 7 days. Here are the options: 1. Go to a yoga class in your ‘hood. 2. Do a yoga dvd at home. 3. Take a 20-40 minute savasana at home on the floor.
This is an opportunity to get creative, be a part of a community and challenge yourself. What do you say? Up for the challenge?
As part of my challenge, I’ve decided to add a new asana each day into my practice and will be posting regularly on my blog. Ready, set, yoga!
