Dearest Travel,
I’m sorry that we haven’t been able to spend time together recently; not a day passes that you are not on my mind and in my heart.
I reminisce on all the wonderful times we have spent together—I think warmly of the people you have brought into my life. I dream, although I’m not sure why, that what you have planned for us is bigger than I can imagine.
I knew when I moved to California and committed to three years of studying that we would not have the freedom to spend countless days just passing the time, doing nothing more than observing the world that surrounds us.
It was you that taught me the value of observation, among other things that I learned in our wild bouts of passion. However, it is known that:
“Love knows not its depth until the hour of separation.” ~ Kahlil Gibran
The hour of separation has arrived; lucky for me I have a small grasp of what separation feels like. I have you to thank for that as well. After all, you introduced me to my now beloved husband, thus challenging me to a few years of a transatlantic relationship.
The hour of separation proved vital in the end, and the same shall prevail for us.
I know you are out there, a constant, moving, inspiring force in the world; I think of you with a smile on my heart.
Who are you seducing today? Who is falling in love with you for the first time?
Your all encompassing knowing, and willingness, is enough for all to enjoy. In some form another, I hope that all people who inhabit this earth might come to know your ways.
Indeed, it would be a more peaceful place if more took the time to learn how to dance with your divine nature.
So, until we set sail once again, may you continue to ignite passion in the hearts of many.
May you continue to comfort the lonely. May you reflect the nature of humanity that weaves us together. May you inspire and create the world around us.
Always together, never apart.
With love,
K
