I finally got around to editing footage from Burning Man, and boy did I have some hidden gems on my camera. I spent all night editing together a snappy little video that would properly tell the story of our experience (without offending moms).
I don’t think I’ve ever smiled as much as I did while jogging through hours of (mostly) insane footage. I burst out in laughter many times while shaking my head at the nonsense on my computer screen.
I giddily texted Waylon numerous times during the edit process, preparing him for one ‘helluva’ video.
I love telling stories with video; it’s incredibly effective at bringing to life moments that can’t be explained through words or even pictures.
I document just about every adventure in my life and it’s usually fun, but sometimes I miss out on experiences because I’m constantly looking through a viewfinder.
At Burning Man however, I was mindful to be present and keep the camera in my pocket. This was mostly true, but I still managed to capture some magical moments.
Our week in Black Rock City was incredible.
It didn’t hit me how wonderful it was until I went back and looked through this footage. It put a huge smile on my face, and I hope it has the same effect on yours.
