On these deliciously hot days, there is nothing like an equally delicious guacamole to dive into. Especially after a run, yoga or any workout, refueling with some good fat and protein to restore and repair the muscle is ideal.
Here is quick and easy guacamole recipe—with a kick—to get you going!
A great snack for summer feasts where, with this recipe, you’ll most likely become the life of the party—-actually with or without it, you’ll still be!
Ingredients:
- 3 avocados—halved, seeded and peeled
- 1 juiced lime
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne
- 1/2 diced medium onion
- 1/2 minced jalapeno pepper
- 2 diced tomatoes
- 1 tablespoon chopped cilantro
- 1 clove minced garlic
Directions:
Place the scooped avocado pulp and lime juice in a large bowl.
Drain, and reserve the lime juice, after the avocados have been coated.
With a potato masher add the salt, and cayenne and mush!
Fold onions, jalapeno, tomatoes, cilantro, and garlic—stat!
Add 1 tablespoon of the reserved lime juice.
How to Enjoy:
Let sit at room temperature for 1 hour and then serve with pita or flax seed chips and down with a cold brewed iced tea or beer.
Put your heels up and relax.
