I get to watch TV once or twice a year, when I dog/house-sit for some friends.
They have this giant TV with about a thousand or more channels on it. The first day I’m there, I usually spend it in front of the television, just giving myself the chance to flip through and see what’s happened since the last time I was there.
Honestly, I don’t understand the lure of television. Don’t get me wrong. I love TV shows and movies. I have a DVD library at home. I guess, I don’t understand commercials. They’re always trying to sell me something.
So, on those days when you just want to veg out in front of the TV and marathon Doctor Who (or watch Burlesque, like I did in this video) here is a short yoga routine you can flow through during those pesky commercial breaks:
If you don’t want to do the whole flow, you can never go wrong with a nice forward fold every once in a while. It’s nice to veg out sometimes, but we don’t want to put down roots in the couch!
Take breaks from the noise.
Mute the show.
Get lost in your breath.
I have found that even with a thousand channels, there’s nothing on that I would die if I missed.
