We Will is a short film—created by Aussie friends Laura Nagy, Samuel Leighton-Dore, and Nirrimi Firebrace—that highlights the central idea behind the marriage equality movement: Love.
In this clip, which will bring so many big fat tears to your eyes that you’ll need to take out flood insurance, we follow a lesbian couple from the very first time they meet to their wedding day surrounded by loved ones and expensive looking confetti.
The awkward smiles and jittery hand movements of their first date, the embarrassing public arguments, the silent apology, and the pain of vulnerability all collide to create something beautifully relatable. We’ve all been these women, because we’ve all loved someone, and we’ve all been terrified of losing them.
It’s Christmas, and soon to be a whole new year—maybe it’s a good time to change some things:
