April’s Scorpio Full Moon: Is Enough ever Enough?

full moon eye

*Eleditor’s note: Astrology isn’t a religion. We’re not sure it’s a science, either. It’s magic, maybe. But, as with feng shui, say, things affect things. So as long as we don’t go blaming our problems on the stars, as long as we assume responsibility for our own actions…well, hell, a little auspicious coincidence and applicable wisdom can’t hurt. And so, with that grain of salt…enjoy!

Full Moon in Scorpio always gets a lot of attention.

The upcoming Scorpio Full Moon taking place on April 22nd, 2016 will prove the notion of “enough is never enough” true—in more ways than one.

First and foremost, Scorpio is the sign that breaks through the fake and frivolous.

Nobody knows how to see through the b.s. better than the scorpion. They find a way to get straight to the heart of the matter and cut through all the fluff.

Scorpio is also the sign that likes to reveal things and April’s Full Moon will help this manifest in each of our lives.

While some signs fear seeing a situation for what it truly is, Scorpio craves finding out the truth. It likes to help us get through the process of seeing things that aren’t so obvious. They cut through the illusion. This is a transformational energy after all. Getting to the crux of the situation is what Scorpio does best.

Interestingly enough, Earth Day this year falls on the same day as this revealing Full Moon.

This is perhaps a sign indicating it’s finally time to see what’s really happening to our planet and do our small part to turn things around?

The astrology behind the façade says that devils in sheep’s clothing should beware. The games being played “supposedly behind closed doors” may soon surface. Secrets, hidden mysteries and people’s underlying motives all seem to mysteriously come out when a Scorpio Moon is in play. I love a good aha moment and this Full Moon will likely deliver just that.

However, this year’s Scorpio Full Moon is a little extra special in the departments of revelations and aha moments.

This extra special part has to do with what Scorpio’s planetary rulers are currently doing. An important factor in understanding astrology is knowing that each sign works with a planet. I like to think of them working together as a team. In this case, both of the planets that Scorpio works with, Mars and Pluto, are both beginning their retrograde motion at the time of this Scorpio Full Moon.

Scorpio has two planets that work right alongside it. Mars, the Lord of War, and Pluto, the Lord of Death, Destruction and Transformation are Scorpio’s planetary best friends. Intense is an understatement to say the least. We’re going deep with this one.

The interesting thing with this Full Moon is that both Scorpio planets will be in the beginning stages of their backward crawl. Mars begins his retrograde on April 17th and Pluto on the 18th. This type of occurrence rarely happens and it’s going to kick intensity (relating to power and control) up a few notches. The universe is in the throws of highlighting the essence of what these planets represent in bigger ways than usual. This Full Moon will likely be the catalyst that turns on the light and helps us see things more clearly.

Side Note: Keep in mind the bigger planetary picture. We’re in the midst of cutting through illusions but it’s taking some time and effort to get there. A lot of us are trudging through uncertain waters and the not knowing part is debilitating. Our ideas of what’s real and what’s not are changing thanks to Saturn and Neptune operating in tense territory.

The implications of the Full Moon with Mars and Pluto taking center stage.

Mars is about action while Pluto is about power and destruction. Power plays are about to come into effect as a result.

In real life, questions like, “Who’s got the power and who’s taking it away?” as well as “What can and can’t we control?” will begin to whirl around in our minds.

Power vs. powerlessness begins to be revealed.

The burning question of, “Is enough ever enough?” comes to my mind when the Scorpio side of me presses to get to the crux of the matter.

How far are we willing to go to get what we want?

How far are we willing to go outside our comfort zone to get it?

These questions takes us into the part of the story where the other lead actor comes onto stage—Taurus. (For you see when there’s a Full Moon there isn’t just one lead sign.) There are two signs pulling at each other—both vying for the limelight.

Scorpio wants what she wants and Taurus wants what she wants.

“I desire” (Scorpio) vs. “I have” (Taurus).

While the Moon is in Scorpio, she’s being pulled by the Sun in the safety of Taurus. A tug of war and balancing act between the two of them kicks into motion at the peak of this Full Moon.

These are two totally different signs that operate on opposite planes. Scorpio craves change and transformation while Taurus wants security and safety. Scorpio wants to push the limits and see what’s behind the façade. It doesn’t fear the unknown—it craves the process of discovery. Taurus, on the other hand, wants to stay in the zone it knows best. It likes looking around and seeing familiar surroundings. Knowing the ins and outs of what’s around makes this sign feel better as well as more secure. Taurus likes to be practical and prepared.

Taurus says, “Let’s play it safe.” While it’s polar opposite Scorpio says, “Let’s see how far we can go.”

Go ahead or stay behind? How much is it worth?

The planets are setting the scene and bringing situations to the stage but the answers will be ours to find on our own. Free will is in play and only we can decide which side we’ll follow.

No matter which side we most relate with, April’s Full Moon will likely bring these questions into the forefront of our minds. A kamikaze effect is in the works where strong emotions might overwhelm us and have a rattling effect on our psyches. This is a point of no return and firm decisions need to be made.

Full Moons are about completion and something in our lives needs to evolve and either close out or be taken to the next level.

Which way are you about to go?

The desire (a strong Scorpio trait) to throw caution to the wind and go after more will be strong. The necessity to pause and be still is going to be important here.

Asking ourselves the following questions, which relate to both the Scorpio and Taurus energies, may help us tune into what the universe wants us to see.

How much is too much?

Where do we draw the line? What are the risks in doing so?

How bad do we want it and how far are we willing to go to get it?

“Is enough ever enough?”

Nobody knows the answers except for us—taking a minute to honestly ask ourselves may prove beneficial.

With one of the hottest weekends of the year following this Full Moon I know we’ll find the landing place that’s right for each individual. The answer may be surprising given that a magnetic energy is approaching with both Uranus and Venus dancing so close after the peak of this Full Moon.

A kamikaze effect is coming on strong and to close out I want to share a song that’s been on repeat on my current playlist. I’ve always been a music person and for whatever reason the right song for the current energies in play always seems to find me. In my mind,  hits the nail on the head when it comes to the perfect song for this April Scorpio Full Moon.

She begins by telling us to “let it all go” and encourages us to “fly free” but continually reminds us that we may “never get enough.”

So go ahead and give it a listen and tap into the Full Moon vibe for yourself.

Keep in mind that what’s right for one person may not necessarily be the same case for another. We each have our own path and relate to each of these energies in our own way. Everyone’s idea of “enough” is different and this is the Full Moon that’ll show case just how far each of us is willing to go to get it.

Go after whatever it is you want—but just be careful of going too far. Eventually we all have to draw a line and say “enough is enough.”
