Attention Potter-heads! A new Harry Potter inspired film is being released this November!

No, this isn’t a cruel “April Fool’s” type joke. This is the real deal.

Now, if you’re a legit Potter-head, chances are you are well aware that back in 2001, J.K. Rowling published a book titled Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. She wrote it under the pseudonym of a fictitious author, “Newt Scamander,” and the idea is that it’s Harry Potter’s own copy of the textbook of the same name, which is referenced in the first book, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.

Rowling wrote this book, along with the book, Quidditch Through the Ages, to raise funds for the charity, Comic Relief, which helps impoverished children all over the world.

In 2013, Rowling announced that a new film, inspired by the book, was in the works. Three years later, we now get our first glimpse at the Official Full Trailer:

Now, if you’re feeling confused about where this new magical story is coming from (because, remember the book Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them was simply a textbook-style reference book of magical creatures), you’re not alone. Check out these comments from Reddit:

“Is this based on a book? My understanding was that J.K. Rowling’s Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them is just sort of an encyclopedia of the different magical creatures, though I haven’t read it. Is there another book I’ve missed?”

“JKR is writing the screenplay. It will be published alongside the film.”

So yes, this magical tale does come to us via Rowling herself. In fact, the Wiki for the film tells us that this will be Rowling’s screenwriting debut, and she will be on the team of producers as well. Additionally, the film will be the first installment of a trilogy!

The film is scheduled to release in theaters November 18th, 2016.
