I Am, Just Because. {Poem}

I’m a sucker for people who can sit with themselves in silence.
For the sound of the ocean.
For the softness of lips.
For señoritas dancing salsa.
For sweet symphonies and serenades.

I’m a delver into the darkness.
A digger beneath surfaces.
With a duty to discover depths.
And dissolve old truths.
That don’t breed abundance.

I germinate in vulnerability.
I gravitate toward greenery.
I graze in gardens of integrity.

I’m a worshipper of water.
Weeping willows.
Wind in my face.
Wishing wells.
And the wacky folk.
I’m an intentional wanderer.
A wild walker.
A wonderer.

I live for laughter.
Long train rides alone in foreign lands.
Lying tangled up in lovers.

I savor salt water on bare skin.
Starry skies.
And the way stones skip.

I’m a sucker for people
Who pause.
Just because.
