Hannah, GypsyOn (@gypsyon__ on Instagram), joined our Summer 2017 Elephant Academy class as a guest lecturer to discuss all things Instagram.

Hannah has gained recognition and a large following over Instagram for her deep love of yoga and Acroyoga. Waylon and Hannah shared a thoughtful conversation about what it is in our lives that makes it onto Instagram, what doesn’t, and why a boundary around our social media use is important.

In Elephant Academywe talk often about slow social media. The distinction between using social media and being used by social media is an important one in how it dictates living more (or less) mindfully. Hannah shared with us how she’s gained a following over Instagram without allowing it to consume her life.

This video offers an insider view into a typical Elephant Academy meeting. Come join our Academy if you want to work and play with elephant journal for three months and learn about social media, writing, editing, and journalism ethics. You can join from anywhere in the world and learn Instagram, Facebook pages, writing, editing, book-writing, journalism ethics vs. fake news, and more.
