Disappear.

If she begged and if she cried,
would it put out the sun tomorrow? Would it give her some shade to hide her self-pity?
Should she wait for a miracle? Is there any way to travel back in time so she never meets you?
You disappeared.
No cues. No hints. Nada. Radio silence.
We don’t say goodbye anymore.
We disappear. We run away.
You came like a thief at night stealing her trust.
For a while she felt like she was no longer whole, no longer complete.
For a while she looked for the missing pieces in every place and corner to no avail.
She accepted you were gone.
Life goes on without you.
Long before already, she realised she’d made a mistake. Yet she stubbornly decided to take the risk to bet on a fairytale, a potential,

Life goes on without you.
Long before already, she realised she’d made a mistake. Yet she stubbornly decided to take the risk to bet on a fairytale, a potential,
an imagination.
A heart broken by the imposture not the departure.
For a while her chest blamed her for being so frail to disappointment because of the excruciating pain it couldn’t bear.
Where are you?
For a while her brain caused her hallucinations. She tried to reach you. She could almost see you. She could almost feel you. You’re nearly here and then
you disappear.
Was that love or an addiction?
A soul aches when it falls in love with a ghost.
Why?
When she thinks about it she knows you were never really there
or even cared.
The more she thinks about it, the less that you were able to share with her.
She missed all the signs one at a time.
You were ready.
How could she know? Dumbfounded in her fantasy.
Her mind and brain forgave her for the betrayal, for placing feelings and emotions over wisdom and intelligence.
But now her love has recovered. She knew it’s not the end of the world.
Slowly but surely growing back the missing pieces in her heart. Slowly but surely sowing back together the detached parts of her soul.
Despite everything, she hasn’t let herself down. She hasn’t proved her worth to you or anyone. She’s found herself again. Better than yesterday’s best.
She’s a survivor
and she has survived.
