self care for hard days

Most of the time, I feel like I’m doing so much better, moving ever forward in grief and addiction recovery. Then there are days like today, where I have legit life business to take care of, but I never make it off my safe zone – the couch. I hate myself and judge myself on these kinds of days. The negative Self talk is out the roof!

It occurred to me that since my core belief is that love is the answer, I should try to love myself a bit more. Yes! Take a soothing bath, listen to some good music and sing my heart out, not feel compelled to clean or cook. It’s 8:30 p.m. and I haven’t done any of that, but I did take a nap with my boyfriend, and woke up feeling so refreshed. No guilt.

Tomorrow I will try again to complete my big girl responsibilities, but if I can’t, I will not hate or judge myself. Love IS the answer, and I’m starting with ME. Peace, everybody.
