What Should Be In Your India Travel Bag

Nothing can beat the pleasure of going on a particular trip. Isn’t it? But, this pleasure comes
always after a lot of headache like planning out your trip and then packing every essential item.
In fact, you have to brainstorm yourself with a long checklist. Else, your well-planned trip might
end up abruptly.

No matter what corner of the world you travel, packing remains same just according to the
weather conditions but the case is completely different with India. You should be very particular
and conscious when packing India travel bag.

Confused, where to get started? Okay, put your mind at ease and hold your bag. Now, here you
go.

1- CLOTHES
Be it a travel trip or a business trip, clothes are definitely the first thing to look at. Here, the point
is what clothes you should choose for your India tour? Generally, India is blazing hot, freezing
cold, and dripping wet. So, depending on your season and destination, you should keep suitable
clothes.

Don’t get a bundle of clothes. A few pairs of jeans, T-shirts, and sleepwear are enough for you.
Ladies, you need to be more conscious of your dresses when traveling to India. You should be
appropriately covered up if you want to avoid nasty stares.

However, the case is not same all the time. Not everyone is conservative here. Nevertheless,
carry decent dress in a respectful way.

2- SHOES
This one is important. Don’t forget to carry at least one extra pair of footwear. No matter what
the season is, you can’t walk even a single step without shoes in India. The rugged terrain of
India makes it difficult to walk barefoot.

Therefore, carrying at least one pair of walking shoes, sneakers, and slippers is always
recommended. Girls, of course, you don’t forget your stylish sandals. Needless to mention, carry
4-5 pairs of socks along with you.

3- ELECTRONICS
Isn’t ironic that we plan a trip to escape from the world and to spend some time alone but we’re
unable to survive even a moment without these devices? Anyways, don’t plan to leave your
mobile, DSLR, earphones, and other devices behind.

Get all your essential devices. Above all, carry a power adapter along with you else your device
will leave you in a lurch. Carrying a power bank is also a good idea.

4- MONEY
Obviously, you can’t go on a trip without money on your hand. Isn’t it? That’s why carry a large
amount of money but certainly not in hard cash. Please remember not to keep all your money in
your pocket. Only a handful amount is enough for.

At best, carry your credit/debit card along with you. It comes handy when you need a big
amount. You’ll find the ATM machines in every few steps in most of the places in India. Just
withdraw whatever you need. No concern of losing money.

Foreigners are recommended to get some Indian currency because the auto-rickshaw guys will
accept only local currency that too hard cash. You can get your currency exchanged at any
airport terminal.

5- ACCESSORIES
The next thing you need to keep in your India travel bag is all your indispensable accessories.
After all, it’s those bits and pieces that make a trip more interesting. First of all, get a money belt.
It keeps your money discreet and out of reach from the pickpockets.

To jazz up over your overall look, you might need some swanky accessories like hat, sunglasses,
scarves, ear muffs, and whatever you like. Get them all and be in vogue. In addition to that, don’t
forget to carry a small sling bag.

Sling bags are always perfect to keep all your small belongings together in one place. If you’re
going on a camping tour, get a sleeping bag too.

6- MEDICINES: FIRST AID KIT
We know you’re full of beans and going to have a rocking time. Yet, keeping some basic
medicines along with you is always prudent. You never know the time. Therefore, just keep
some antibiotics, painkillers, and diarrhea medicines with you.

In case, you feel under the weather, these medicines will help you. You won’t have to go far and
wide in your poor health just to find a pharmacist. Not to forget, pack some bandages too. Minor
injuries are common while traveling.

Other than medicines, get a LifeStraw water filter too. Surely, you can get bottled water
anywhere in India. But in some remote destinations, hygienic water is not easily available. So,
your personal water filter can be a savior at those times.

7- PERSONAL CARE ITEMS: TOILETRIES
You should give a special attention to personal care items while packing India travel bag. You
might not find your favorite brands everywhere in India, so better carry them along with you.
You can keep sachets of every item. It will save plenty of space in your bag.

If you’re off to dry destinations, don’t forget to carry sunscreen and wet wipes with you. India is
extremely hot in such destinations. So, if you want some fabulous Insta-worthy photos, make
sure to get these two items in your bag.

Carry your complete makeup kit. Small items such as handkerchiefs, toilet paper, hand sanitizer,
and Indian map are the must-have things if want no heavy sledding on your trip.

On top of all, don’t forget to get a mosquito repellent with you. You seriously can’t afford to
miss this item else your happy nights would turn up into nightmares.

8- COMBINATION LOCK
Combination locks are something that should definitely be in your India travel bag. India is an
extremely crowded nation. Hence keeping your luggage secure in a train or bus might be difficult
in some cases.

If you’re traveling India first time, you might be worried about your luggage and its safety. No?
Well, Get a combination lock and put all your worries aside. Padlocks make your luggage under
lock and key. Nobody can snatch and run away.
