A love letter to my daughters on Women’s Day

The most important person to be truthful to is yourself; it’s more difficult than it sounds and throughout life you have to continuously peel away the layers of society’s expectations.

Remember you are wild. You are not tameable.. by anyone! It doesn’t mean you can’t be sweet, calm, loving and settled.. it means you belong to nobody.

You are not perfect! And you are not supposed to be, so stop chasing that illusion… you ugly-cry, you are messy, occasionally unreasonable and sometimes a goddamn asshole.. and thats ok.

Support your fellow women: their success is not your failure. When you meet a hostile woman know that it’s based in fear and insecurity… respond with love and show her the way to sisterhood.

Be kind! But don’t sacrifice your own happiness to avoid hurting others .. you will hurt yourself and them more in the long run.

Know that you are a warrior: you can be whatever you want, whomever you want as long as you are willing to put yourself out there… willing to fail.

Love hard… it’s your nature!

Pretty is overrated (but damn you are beautiful .. don’t ever question that, but understand it does not define you).

You are loved – always! You matter – always! You are fucking magic – always!

Don’t let anybody … including me.. tell you what you are.
